President calls for collective efforts to strengthen economy

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Zardari, addressing Pakistan Peoples Party leaders and workers at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday during Eid ul-Azha celebrations, emphasized the need for collaborative efforts to develop a strong and self-reliant national economy. He extended Eid greetings to the party workers, recognizing their unwavering support during difficult times.

The president underscored the importance of agriculture as the cornerstone of Pakistan’s economy, urging for focused growth in the sector and enhanced support for farmers. He also called for unity in driving the country’s development and prosperity.

While addressing regional concerns, President Zardari expressed his worries about the rise of extremism in India, particularly the oppression of minorities, especially Muslims and Christians. He noted that India’s Hindutva ideology posed a threat to regional peace, stressing the deep historical, religious, and cultural ties of Muslims in the subcontinent.
