ISLAMABAD: According to the latest figures from the Pakistan Economic Survey, over a million Pakistanis found work abroad in the fiscal year 2024-25. Punjab emerged as the largest contributor, with 404,345 individuals migrating for employment.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa followed with 187,000 workers seeking opportunities overseas. Sindh saw 60,424 workers leave, while 29,937 individuals from the tribal districts joined the foreign labor force. Azad Jammu and Kashmir recorded 29,591 workers migrating for jobs abroad.
The survey also highlighted that 8,621 workers from Islamabad went overseas, while Balochistan reported a smaller outflow of 5,668 individuals. In addition, 1,692 people from northern areas of Pakistan sought employment abroad.
