FAISALABAD: Over 600 residents of Faisalabad were hospitalized at Allied, Civil, and General Hospitals after suffering from gastroenteritis, reportedly due to consuming spicy and unhygienic food during the Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.
Health experts have urged the public to avoid overeating spicy and oily foods to prevent gastrointestinal issues. Doctors have also recommended practicing moderation and ensuring proper hygiene while preparing food.
The surge in gastroenteritis cases follows widespread indulgence in heavy, spicy traditional dishes during Eid-ul-Azha, contributing to an increase in stomach-related ailments across the city.
In addition to the gastroenteritis cases, over 150 inexperienced butchers were also injured while slaughtering animals. They were taken to emergency departments for treatment, further straining the local healthcare facilities.
