PM Shehbaz replies to queries in defamation suit against Imran Khan

LAHORE: The cross-examination of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif continued on Monday in the Rs10 billion defamation case he filed against PTI founder Imran Khan. The case pertains to Imran’s claim that Shehbaz had offered him a bribe to withdraw the Panama Papers case.

Shehbaz appeared via video link before the Lahore district court and responded to questions from Imran’s legal team. The queries focused on Shehbaz’s affidavit, its content, how it was filed, as well as on stamps and attestation related to the case.

The prime minister told the court that Imran had not made the accusations in his presence but appeared to have made them during television programmes.
