TikTok influencer Sana Yousaf murdered after repeated rejections, says Islamabad IG

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi confirmed on Tuesday that 17-year-old TikTok star Sana Yousaf was shot dead at her home by a 22-year-old suspect who had repeatedly contacted her online and was arrested soon after.

Sana, who had over a million followers on social media, was killed Monday evening after the accused spent hours loitering outside her residence. The IG described the incident as a “gruesome and cold-blooded murder” resulting from multiple rejections by the victim.

The influencer posted lip-sync videos, skincare tips, and beauty promotions on TikTok, where she had more than 800,000 followers. Her last video, shared just hours before her death, showed her cutting a birthday cake.

Comments under her video included “Rest in Peace” and calls for justice. Violence against women, especially following rejected marriage proposals, remains a pervasive issue in Pakistan, with several high-profile cases in recent years drawing widespread attention and outrage.
