DIG prisons files complaint against IG for sending abusive messages

KARACHI: DIG Prisons Muhammad Hassan Sahito has filed a complaint with the provincial chief secretary against IG Prisons Kazi Nazeer Ahmed, accusing him of sending abusive messages in an official WhatsApp group. The messages were sent on May 1 and May 3, leading to the shutdown of the group. Sahito claims the IG continued sending offensive messages even after he blocked his number.

The DIG also expressed concern that senior officers may be manipulating the IG against him and has requested an impartial inquiry and disciplinary action. The Minister for Prisons, Ali Hassan Zardari, has recommended an inquiry into the matter.
