KARACHI: Women beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) protested at a government school in New Karachi, alleging illegal deductions from their payments. The protesters accused staff members of taking bribes and deducting amounts ranging from Rs2,000 to Rs3,000. The police and district administration officials arrived at the scene, and investigations are underway. Videos of the women’s complaints, which also included claims of harassment and unfulfilled payments, went viral on social media. The affected women have called for action against the officials involved.
