Flights between Pakistan and UAE resume after hiatus

DUBAI: Air travel between Pakistan and the UAE has resumed, with flights now operating from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah airports to several destinations in Pakistan. According to UAE aviation authorities, major airports in the Emirates have restarted services to Pakistan, including flights to Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Peshawar, and Islamabad.

The first flight to Islamabad is scheduled to depart on May 12, with services to Peshawar set to begin on May 13. Flights from Abu Dhabi to Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore are also operational, though some have been rescheduled. Authorities advised passengers to check with airlines for updated flight details.

While flight operations have resumed, disruptions continue, with over 150 flights canceled due to lingering uncertainty and logistical challenges. The partial damage to the Rahim Yar Khan airport during an Indian airstrike has led to delays and rerouted flights. However, efforts to maintain Hajj operations are ongoing, and the Pakistan Airports Authority has confirmed that the country’s airspace has been fully reopened following the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
