Sajid Sadpara climbs Dhaulagiri without oxygen support, adds to record achievements

ISLAMABAD: Sajid Ali Sadpara, the son of the late legendary mountaineer Mohammad Ali Sadpara, successfully summited Nepal’s 8,167-meter-high Dhaulagiri mountain on May 10, 2025, without the use of supplemental oxygen or any external support. This accomplishment marks another remarkable achievement in Sadpara’s climbing career, as he announced the feat on his Instagram with the message: “Alhamdulillah, Dhaulagiri summit without oxygen and unsupported yesterday 10 May.”

Sadpara’s ascent was made possible with support from Seven Summit Treks Nepal and Sabroso Pakistan, while his technical climbing gear was sponsored by Kailas. Karrar Haidri, Secretary of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, praised the historic achievement, calling it a proud moment for both Pakistan and the global mountaineering community.

In 2023, Sadpara became the first Pakistani to summit Mount Everest without supplemental oxygen and Sherpa assistance. He has also climbed all five eight-thousanders in Pakistan without supplemental oxygen, including Nanga Parbat, K2, Gasherbrum-I, and Gasherbrum-II.
