KARACHI: Despite the threat of Israeli-made loitering munitions sent by India, Karachi residents demonstrated remarkable solidarity, rallying in support of the Pakistan Armed Forces. People from various walks of life, including political leaders, religious figures, and the marginalized transgender community, came together to condemn India’s aggression and voice unwavering support for Pakistan’s defense.
The Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P) organized a major rally at the Karachi Press Club, with central leader Dr. Farooq Sattar promising a strong response to Indian provocations. Sattar emphasized the validity of Pakistan’s creation and suggested that India’s aggressive policies would lead to the downfall of the Hindutva ideology.
The transgender community also participated in the protest, with Jaya Foundation Executive Director Bindiya Rana affirming their solidarity with Pakistan’s forces. Lawyers joined in, with the Istehkam-e-Pakistan rally expressing outrage over India’s targeting of civilians. Meanwhile, Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi declared May 9 as “Youm-e-Azam” in defiance of India’s aggression, following recent events in Occupied Kashmir.
