PTI’s Zartaj Gul walks free as Azadi March cases dismissed

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Zartaj Gul was acquitted on Tuesday in two cases related to the party’s Azadi March, following a verdict announced by a local court in Islamabad.

Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hassan Chishti announced the reserved judgment on the acquittal pleas submitted by Gul. Her legal counsel, including Sardar Muhammad Masroof Khan Advocate, appeared in court for the proceedings.

The cases had been registered at the Bara Kahu Police Station against Zartaj Gul and several others in connection with the 2022 protest march. The court has adjourned hearings for the remaining accused until May 27.

Earlier, PTI founder Imran Khan and other party leaders had already been acquitted in the same cases.
