FIA plea for remand extension of Armughan rejected

KARACHI: A judicial magistrate has rejected the FIA’s request for an extension of physical remand for Armughan Qureshi, the main accused in the illegal call centre case and the Mustafa Amir murder case. The court expressed dissatisfaction with the FIA’s lack of progress despite repeated remand extensions, noting that Armughan had already been in custody for nearly two months.

The FIA had sought further custody, citing new information about accomplices and digital evidence, but the court criticized the investigation’s pace and denied the request. Armughan was remanded to judicial custody, and the FIA was instructed to submit the final challan at the next hearing.
