FIA DG ordered to present records in Azma Bukhari video case

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Alia Neelum, while presiding over the case regarding a fake video of Punjab spokesperson Azma Bukhari on Monday summoned the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to present the complete case records, including his travel history.

During the hearing, Chief Justice Neelum expressed concern over the DG FIA’s absence. The government’s lawyer informed the court that the DG was currently in China for an official meeting.

The Chief Justice questioned the procedural steps followed before his departure, insisting that an NOC and prior approval were necessary.

The court warned the FIA against attempting to mislead the judiciary and ordered the DG to appear at the next hearing on September 30, bringing all relevant documents, including boarding passes and travel details.
