ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will observe Defence and Martyrs Day tomorrow (Friday) to honor the sacrifices of its martyrs and Ghazis, reaffirming its commitment to protect the nation from all threats.
The day marks the commemoration of 1965, when Indian forces crossed the international border in a night attack, which was successfully thwarted by Pakistan.
Special prayers will be held after Fajr in mosques across the country for national progress and the liberation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Fateha and Quran Khawani will also be offered in remembrance of the martyrs.
The day will begin with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital and a 21-gun salute in provincial capitals, followed by visits to the families of martyrs and the monuments built in their memory.
