Five injured in Peshawar explosion near police mobile

PESHAWAR: An explosion near a police van on Warsak Road in the Pir Bala area of Machni Gate, Peshawar, injured five individuals, including two policemen on Friday.

The blast occurred around 9:00 AM during a routine patrol, according to the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Qasim Ali Khan.

The injured, comprising two police officers and three passers-by, were promptly transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) Superintendent of Police (SP) Arshad Khan revealed that the explosion was triggered by a remote-controlled device, using approximately 4 to 5 kg of explosives.

In response to the incident, six to seven suspects have been detained for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, has requested a detailed report on the incident and issued directives to ensure that the injured receive the best possible medical care.
