Three drown in Kohistan river following chairlift collapse

UPPER KOHISTAN: Three individuals tragically fell into the river after the rope of a chairlift snapped in Upper Kohistan.

The incident occurred in Barseen, where tourists were crossing the river via the chairlift. Upon the rope breaking, the trio plunged into the water below.

Police promptly initiated a rescue operation after the accident was reported.

Local authorities, along with community members, are actively participating in the search efforts.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sajjad Khan detailed that the victims, identified as Naseeb, Sher, and Fida, were traveling from one riverbank to the other when the chairlift’s rope failed, leading to their unfortunate drowning.
