SC to decide on Faisalabad election recount on Aug 19

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will hear an appeal on August 19, regarding re-counting in NA-97 Faisalabad.

A two-judge bench, comprising Justice Amin ud Din Khan and Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, would pick up the case for hearing.

PML-N’s candidate Ali Gohar has challenged the verdict of Lahore High Court (LHC) in an appeal to the apex court.

The LHC had terminated the decision of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for re-counting in the constituency and declared Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC)’s candidate Saadullah as winner.
