Salary row ends in killing of software CEO in Karachi

KARACHI: An incident of self served justice unfolded in Karachi where an employee fatally stabbed his Chief Executive Officer (CEO) over unpaid wages on Tuesday.

The employee, identified as Shoaib, had not received his salary for the past three months, leading to a heated altercation with the CEO, Naveed Khan.

According to police reports, the argument escalated when Shoaib, wielding a sharp-edged weapon, attacked Naveed in his office. Despite being rushed to the hospital, Naveed succumbed to his injuries.

Family members revealed that Naveed was the CEO of a foreign software company and that Shoaib was a former employee. They noted that the delay in salary payments was due to funds not being disbursed by the company’s head office.
