Gary Kirsten, Pakistan cricket’s white-ball coach, arrived in Lahore on Monday morning.
He will engage in discussions with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi about the team’s performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 and future strategies. Assistant coach Azhar Mahmood also arrived in Lahore from London today.
The insights of Kirsten and Mahmood will be pivotal in determining Babar Azam’s future as the white-ball captain.
Key agenda items include potential changes in team composition, fitness protocols, and leadership roles.
Furthermore, Jason Gillespie, the head coach of the red-ball team, will be arriving in Lahore from Karachi today.
Former Test cricketers have also been invited for consultations. On Monday, the PCB chief and other board officials will meet with these former players to gather their views and suggestions.
The discussion will focus on bridging the gap between the standards of Pakistan’s domestic competitions and international cricket.
The meeting will also review a comprehensive report submitted by another former player, highlighting issues within the current cricket system in the country.
