IHC seeks justification for placing SIC leader on travel ban list

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday asked for a response from the Interior Secretary and other relevant parties regarding the removal of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) chief Sahibzada Hamid Raza from the travel ban list.

Chief Justice Amir Farooq presided over the hearing, calling Deputy Attorney General Syed Ahsan Raza to the rostrum. The Chief Justice expressed skepticism about the rationale behind the travel ban, suggesting it was implemented merely to harass Raza.

“The name has been included in the ECL only to tease,” remarked Chief Justice Farooq. The court has adjourned the case until next week, pending further replies from the concerned authorities.
