Warm winters

Pakistan is seriously and severely affected by the climate change phenomenon. There was almost zero snowfall in the upper regions in the early part of the current winter. The ‘warm’ winter season is a cause of serious concern for multiple reasons. The menace of climate change cannot be managed without global commitment and cooperation. As things stand, the so-called global reparation fund to help the poor countries appears to be a distant dream, and the funds locally allocated for flood control mechanism are yet to be materialised in flash zones like Gilgit-Baltistan.
