Faisalabad candidates seek court intervention for symbol change ahead of elections

FAISALABAD: Candidates contesting for National Assembly seats NA-101 and NA-104 in Faisalabad have approached the court seeking redress.

According to media reports, the applicants have filed a plea in court requesting to alter the election symbols for both constituencies, replacing the current for NA-101 and for NA-104.

Basharat Ali revealed that the candidate from my panel contesting for NA-101 has been assigned the symbol of ‘Minaret,’ while I have been designated the ‘Mace’ for NA-104.

Basharat Ali expressed concerns about the unwarranted and diverse symbols assigned, causing complications in conducting the electoral campaign.

It should be noted that candidates in previous elections who were given unfavorable election symbols had criticized the Election Commission of Pakistan.
