ANP workers torture PTI leader at Peshawar High Court premises

PESHAWAR: Unruly Awami National Party (ANP) workers thrashed Fazal Muhammad Khan, Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI) leader who had defeated ANP’s Asfand Yar Wali in the 2018 general elections at the premises of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Thursday.

Reportedly, ANP workers kicked and punched Fazal during the hearing of a contempt of court case against the party Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) President Aimal Wali Khan.

PHC Chief Justice (CJ) Muhammad Ibrahim Khan had summoned Aimal today to explain his position over an interview.

The noise outside the courtroom disturbed the chief justice who had to say it aloud to the DSP security to keep the ANP workers silent so that he could focus on his job. “If you don’t silence them, I won’t hear the case,” the CJ Muhammad Ibrahim said.
