Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party gets eagle symbol

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has been allotted eagle symbol to Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) for the upcoming elections.

The IPP had requested the ECP for an election symbol of bat, bird and eagle. The ECP decided that the election symbols of bat and bird have already been allotted to the political parties, but the eagle symbol was not allotted to any political party.

The eagle symbol was earlier with the All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), the party of the late General Retired Pervez Musharraf.

The ECP had declared that APML will not be able to participate in elections as a political party in the future. The IPP is a new political party that was launched in 2022. The party is led by Jahangir Tareen Khan and Aleem Khan is its president. The IPP is expected to be a major contender in the upcoming elections.
