Siraj terms country’s deteriorating security situation matter of grave concern

PESHAWAR: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Siraj-ul-Haq has said that deteriorating security situation of the country particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan was matter of grave concerned. He emphasised that ensuring a peaceful environment for the citizens was the primary constitutional responsibility of the government.

Talking to media persons outside Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) Peshawar on Saturday, he said that the sitting and the former administrations regrettably failed to fulfil the assigned responsibilities.

Earlier, Sirajul Haq visited the hospital to inquire about the well-being of those injured in the Hangu blast incident. He vehemently condemned the acts of terrorism that occurred in Mastung and Hangu, urging a thorough investigation and the prompt apprehension of those responsible for these heinous acts. He offered his prayers for the martyrs and a swift recovery for the injured, while demanding compensation to the affected families.

He pointed out that inflation and a fragile security situation are progressing hand in hand, casting a grim shadow over the lives of the people. He emphasised that while Balochistan and KP grapple with terrorism, interior Sindh and southern Punjab are plagued by lawlessness. Street crimes in major urban centers are escalating, contributing to an atmosphere of fear, he said.

The JI chief called upon the government to prioritise security, especially in light of upcoming elections, so that citizens can venture out of their homes without fear and exercise their right to vote in the selection of future leadership. He asserted that a transparent and peaceful electoral process would be a significant step towards achieving stability.

In a separate address to party workers, Sirajul Haq highlighted that the life of the Prophet (PBUH) serves as a comprehensive roadmap for the common man seeking success. He expressed concern that the Muslim Ummah has strayed from the path outlined by the Quran and Sunnah, attributing this deviation as a reason for the nation’s decline.

He noted that Pakistan was founded in the name of Islam but is yet to fully embrace its principles. The Jamaat-e-Islami, he affirmed, is dedicated to the transformation of Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state, guided by the principles of faith and justice.
