MQM’s Raana Ansaar becomes first woman opposition leader in SA

ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Raana Ansar on Wednesday become the first woman opposition leader in the Sindh Assembly.

Earlier, MQM moved an application in the Sindh Assembly for the appointment of new opposition leader in the house.

She also enjoyed the support of renegade members of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA).

Ansaar in her first appearance in the assembly said that she was grateful to the MQM leadership for entrusting their confidence in her. She also thanked parties who extended their support to her.

She further said that right now she had been given the chair of the opposition leader and promised that now things will move forward.

About caretaker government, the MQM leader said they will sit and decide the next move.
