Jafar Express escapes disaster as miscreants blow up track in Bolan Valley

KACHHI: The Jafar Express narrowly escaped a disaster on Tuesday after an explosion on railway track near Mushkaf Railway Station in Bolan Valley.

According to officials, unknown miscreants attempted to target Peshawar-bound Jafar Express by blowing up railway track with planted explosives, which damaged the railway track. The sound of the bomb blast was heard far away.

Luckily, the train, however, had passed though place before the planted devise exploded with a bang. Railway officials including police and Levies personnel rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area. According to a railway official, technical staff has reached the spot and started repair to the railway track for early restoration of rail traffic.

The track was slightly damaged as the blast created a deep pit on the spot.

The Police and law enforcement agencies have launched investigation into the incident.

The security has been tightened and the train was dispatched after ascertaining the well-being of the passengers.
