Vaccinators’ shortage hits children vaccination campaign

LAHORE: The children immunization programme is facing severe manpower crisis as there are 980 vacant positions of vaccinators across the province including Lahore.

As per details, the children immunization drive is badly affecting since 202 seats of vaccinators out of 546 are vacant in Lahore.

The government has failed to induct vaccinators on the vacant seats for a long time.

It merits mentioning here that the decision to recruit vaccinators was made last year but it proved to be a mere verbiage because it could not be implemented.

It is becoming exceedingly difficult to achieve the goals of Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) programme owing to shortage of vaccinators.
