Thousands attend funeral of Hurriyat activist Imtiyaz Alam

RAWALPINDI: People turned up in thousands to attend the funeral procession of Hurriyat activist Bashir Ahmad Peer alias Imtiyaz Alam in Rawalpindi, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Bashir Ahmad Peer alias Imtiyaz Alam was martyred in an attack on Monday as he left Masjid after Maghrib prayers in Rawalpindi.

People from various walks of life including APHC-AJK leaders and Kashmiri migrants participated in his funeral.

Belong to Kralpora area of Kuwpara district, Imtiyaz Alam had been a popular commander in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and spearheaded the struggle for the right to self-determination.

He was a well-educated and religious person. He is survived by wife and five children.
