Efforts underway to provide uninterrupted telecom services: PTA

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Monday said that it was working with operators to provide uninterrupted telecom services to the consumers across the country.

“Due to countrywide power outage, users may face service disruptions,” the PTA said in a series of tweets.

The country saw a power failure which continued for over 12 long hours. The power failure started around 7:30 in the morning. However, the authorities were able to restore power partially and in a phased manner around 7:35pm.

During the entire day, the services remained suspended and the mobile telephony was also disconnected.

It said Cellular Mobile Operators had been instructed to inform their respective subscribers accordingly and make optimal efforts for refueling of the gensets on maximum number of sites.
