Lawyers booked for aerial firing in Lahore

LAHORE: Two cases have been registered under seven serious provisions in Islampura Police Station against lawyers for resorting to celebratory aerial firing following Lahore Bar elections.

Punjab Bar Council has cancelled licences of the lawyers responsible for the aerial firing.

Sources learnt that according to the police, one case was registered on the complaint of the police and the other on the complaint of a citizen.

Many videos of the lawyers firing with modern weapons went viral on social media. Their indiscriminate firing panicked the citizens in the locality. The police said that the lawyers put people’s lives at risk.

Consequently, the Punjab Bar Council identified the lawyers who opened the fire, and cancelled their licenses in the wake of firing.
