LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) Friday ordered production of the brother and nephew of the main accused involved in the assassination attempt on PTI Chairman Imran Khan during his long march in Wazirabad in November last year.
LHC Justice Alia Neelum heard a petition challenging the illegal confinement of accused Naveed’s brother and nephew in a case of gun attack on Imran Khan. The ordered to produce both the persons in the court and adjourned the hearing till January 26.
The petition was filed by the wife of accused Naveed. The petitioner said that police have illegally detained the brother and nephew of Naveed. Police have not revealed the arrest of the accused’s kin, she claimed.
She prayed to the court to order police to release Naveed’s brother Shafiq and nephew Ali Raza from their illegal confinement.
The court ordered Gujranwala RPO to produce both the alleged accused before the court on January 16.
