Punjab govt to also acquire two helicopters on rent

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Monday has decided to acquire two helicopters on rent.

It may be mentioned here the provincial government has already in process to acquire a plane on rent for which Rs120 million have been earmarked.

After completion of the tendering process for the plane, work for acquiring two helicopters for three months will be set into motion.

Sources said the Punjab government’s present helicopter needs maintenance for which funds worth over Rs20 million had been approved.

Officials said the new helicopters can also be used for police and rescue operations.
