Financial Crisis: Thousands of project employees in KP deprived of salaries

PESHAWAR: Due to the ongoing financial crisis, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has failed to pay salaried most of the project employees in the province.

According to sources, thousands of employees have been recruited for more than1000 projects across the province however, the employees are deprived of their salaries due to financial crisis.

The officials said that some project employees have received their salaries but most of salaries of most of projects employees have been suspended for two months. Moreover, 1,300 social media interns recruited by the provincial government for its promotion are also deprived of their salaries for the past three months.

Since the government has freozen development budget, there are fears of further delay in salaries payments.
