Huge cache of narcotics seized, five smugglers arrested

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) said Monday it has seized a huge cache of narcotics and arrested five smugglers in the Arabian Sea off the shores.

The PMSA in a joint operation with Pakistan Customs foiled the smuggling bid involving 420 kg of ice crystal, it said in a statement, adding the operation was carried out on a tip-off.

The seized drugs are valued at approximately Rs4.9 billion (about $22.1 million) in the international market, said the PMSA officials.
