LAHORE: In yet another incident of sexual assault, a 12-year-old girl was purportedly raped at gunpoint by a labourer in Bahawalnagar.
The incident took place in Chaweka tehsil of Bahawalnagar where the suspect, later identified as Muhammad Yousuf, raped the girl.
The accused along with an armed accomplice fled the scene after raping the girl. The victim was later shifted to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital for medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the police registered a first information report (FIR) against the two suspects and launched a search operation.
Earlier, in a similar incident in September, another minor girl was raped at gunpoint in the city.
Families with minors should immigrate out of Bahawalnagar as repetitive incidents suggest lack of administration.
