Four militants killed in Lakki Marwat operation: CTD

PESHAWAR: At least four militants of a proscribed group were killed during a joint operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and police in Lakki Marwat city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa late on Sunday.

The agencies conducted the operation in the Takhti Khel town in the jurisdiction of Naurang police station during which militants hiding in the area opened fire on the reading team. The personnel returned the fire, killing four.

A CTD spokesperson informed the press that automatic weapons have been recovered from the slain militants. He further said a few accomplices of the dead managed to escape the scene.

The law enforcement agencies have also launched a search operation in the area to arrest them.
