Govt asks KP, GB police chiefs to call back their personnel from Banigala

Raising objections to the presence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) police outside former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s residence at Banigala in Islamabad, the Interior Ministry on Friday directed the heads of these Forces to call back the police personnel deployed there.

The ministry has made this clear to them that police personnel from other provinces could not be deployed in the jurisdiction of Islamabad without permission and neither the federal capital administration has requested any provincial government to send these contingents to the city’s territory.

These police heads have also been told that in case of violation of a law, the capital police will swing into action.

Furthermore, even if the Center has asked for the deployment of these police contingents, the latter will have to comply with the instructions of Islamabad Police.
