Linguistic violence being ignited to impact LG polls: Minister

KARACHI: Sindh Local Bodies Minister Nasir Hussain Shah on Saturday accused that some groups are trying to ignite linguistic violence in the province to manipulate the upcoming second phase of LG elections.

Addressing a press briefing on Saturday, Local Bodies Minister Nasir Hussain Shah talked in detail about the recent violence erupted in the aftermath of Bilal Kaka’s murder in Hyderabad. He said that linguistic violence was ignited under a conspiracy.

“The Sindh government would not let any murderer go free,” he vowed and added the purpose of the conspiracy was to impact the upcoming LG polls in the 16 districts of Sindh. Shah said that the government would investigate the issue and bring all those involved in the conspiracy to justice. “Some political parties are using criminals for their political gains,” he claimed.

It is to be noted that linguistic violence flared up in the province after a young boy was shot dead in a local restaurant in Hyderabad.
