Faiz Hameed takes charge as XI Corps commander

ISLAMABAD: Lt Gen Faiz Hameed took over command of XI Corps based in Peshawar from Lt Gen Nauman Mahmood on Monday, said a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Prime Minister Imran Khan on October 26 notified the appointment of Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum as the new chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency.

A notification issued by the Khan’s office read: “The Prime Minister has seen and approved the appointment of Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum, HI (M) as Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence, with effect from November 20, 2021.”

The notification further added Hameed “shall continue to hold charge as the Director-General Inter-Services Intelligence till November 19, 2021”.

Hameed was promoted to the rank of Lt Gen in April 2019 after two-and-a-half-year service in ISI and then was posted as Adjutant General at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
