Four BLA, TTP militants arrested in Karachi IBO

KARACHI: Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel have arrested four terrorists of proscribed militant organisations during an operation in Karachi on Sunday.

The arrests were made during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in the Piracha graveyard of Shershah town.

The detained terrorists — identified as Riyan, Afzal, Shamim Khan and Faisal — belong to the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

A day earlier, Sindh CTD had arrested a wanted shooter belonging to a Lyari gang in a raid held in Karachi. During interrogations, Miraaj alias Chhotu confessed to killing four people including constable Farooq in 2019 in the Pak Colony graveyard.

The CTD personnel also recovered guns from his possession.

The accused was previously arrested in various crimes including extortion and remained behind the bars for a period of time.
