NCOC daily update: 1,656 new cases, 35 deaths from Covid-19

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Saturday confirmed 1,656 new Covid-19 cases and 35 more deaths, the National Command and Operation Centre said on Sunday.

The NCOC, a department spearheading the campaign against the pandemic, said the number of overall confirmed cases had risen to 1,249,858, including 1,175,489 recoveries.

The number of active cases has dropped to 46,503 across the country, while 3,445 are in critical condition.

According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 35 people on Saturday, increasing the overall death toll to 27,866.

Sindh is the most affected province of the country in terms of the number of cases, with 459,392 infections followed by Punjab which has reported 432,809 infections.
