Pakistan reports lowest daily Covid-19 death toll in a month

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan reported 40 deaths from coronavirus over the last 24 hours, the lowest daily toll in more than a month, the National Command and Operation Center said on Monday.

The nation also reported 2,167 new infections on Sunday, the agency added.

The NCOC, a department leading campaign against the pandemic, said the number of overall confirmed cases rose to 1,226,008.

According to a statement by the NCOC, Sindh has been the worst hit, with a total of 450,787 cases, followed by Punjab where the disease was detected in 422,790 people.

A total of 27,246 people have died of the viral disease, including 40 patients who died over the last 24 hours, the NCOC said, adding that 4,840 are in critical condition.
