Sindh announces July 29 holiday for Bhittai urs
Sindh has declared a public holiday on July 29 for the annual urs of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. The closure will apply to provincial government offices and related bodies, except essential services.

KARACHI: The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on Wednesday, July 29, for the annual urs of Sufi poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
A notification shared on Monday said the holiday will apply to all government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils working under the provincial government’s administrative control. Essential services have been exempted.
The notification was shared by the Sindh Information Department on X.
Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s three-day annual urs is observed every year from Safar 14 at his final resting place in Bhit Shah.
