Ever wondered how much veteran Pakistani actors make? Moammar Rana's next film salary will shock you
After decades in the industry, this is reportedly what Moammar Rana is worth to Lollywood

Ever wondered how much Pakistan's biggest film stars actually make?
While most people assume veteran actors earn hefty paychecks after decades in the industry, singer Zeeshan Rokhri says that isn't the case for Lollywood star Moammar Rana.
According to Rokhri, the veteran actor was reportedly paid just PKR 500,000 for the upcoming Punjabi film Mukho—a figure he says is nowhere near what one of Pakistan's biggest stars deserves. Speaking during a recent interview, Rokhri said he learned about Rana's reported fee while discussing his own payment with veteran actress and filmmaker Sangeeta.
"When I found out that a hero like Moammar Rana was being paid only PKR 500,000, I felt deeply disappointed," he said.
"He is one of Pakistan's biggest stars. We talk about competing with India, but if our leading hero is being paid only PKR 500,000, how can we expect to compete?"
The interview took another turn when the host pointed out that Rokhri himself reportedly charges around PKR 1.5 million for a single event.
Rokhri responded by saying his actual fee is even higher but stressed that the conversation wasn't about him.
"I actually charge more than that," he said. "I'm not criticising Sangeeta Ji—I respect her a lot. I'm talking about the industry. This is about how little we value our own stars."
He added that the reported amount paid to Rana reflects a much bigger problem within Lollywood.
"If this is what they're paying Moammar Rana, then even if they paid Saima Ji four times that amount, it would still be far below what leading actors are paid in India," he said.
Mukho, directed by veteran filmmaker Sangeeta and backed by the Punjab government, stars Moammar Rana, Saima Noor, Meera, Hassan Murad and Fajar.
The Punjabi film is scheduled to hit cinemas on December 25, 2026.
