GB election body sets July 12 re-poll in two Diamer seats
The Gilgit-Baltistan election authority has announced re-polling on July 12 at selected polling stations in two Diamer constituencies. The move follows judgments of the GB Supreme Appellate Court.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has fixed July 12, 2026, for fresh polling at selected stations in two Diamer constituencies, acting on rulings issued by the Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Appellate Court.
According to the commission’s Public Relations Office, Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shehbaz Khan issued the notification for re-polling at the Female Polling Station Lushi Thak in GBA-15 (Diamer-I) and at eight polling stations in GBA-17 (Diamer-III). The exercise is scheduled for Sunday.
The election body said District Returning Officers and Returning Officers concerned have been directed to put in place all arrangements under the Election Act, 2017, the Election Rules, 2017, and the court’s directions. It said the voting process is to be carried out in a transparent, free, fair, impartial and peaceful way.
Under the notified schedule, polling will continue from 8:00am to 5:00pm without any interval. The commission also called on eligible voters registered at the affected polling stations to cast their ballots responsibly on the announced date and support the orderly conduct of the process.
