India drop Sanju Samson for Zimbabwe T20Is, hand four players first call-ups
India have left out Sanju Samson for the upcoming T20I series in Zimbabwe and brought in teenage opener Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Four players, including Prabhsimran Singh and Harsh Dubey, have earned their first national call-ups.

NEW DELHI: India have omitted wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson from their squad for the T20 International series against Zimbabwe later this month, according to the team announcement made on Monday.
Samson had been part of India’s successful T20 World Cup campaign on home soil in March, where he made important contributions with half-centuries in each of the final three matches. His place, however, has gone to teenage batter Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who opened the innings for India in the second T20 against England at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The squad also includes four players receiving their first national call-ups: wicketkeeper-batter Prabhsimran Singh, fast bowlers Yash Thakur and Ashok Sharma, and all-rounder Harsh Dubey. Shreyas Iyer will lead the side, while Tilak Varma has been named vice-captain.
India will play a three-match series against Zimbabwe in Harare, with all fixtures scheduled at the same venue. The series is set to begin on July 23. The squad comprises Shreyas Iyer, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, Ishan Kishan, Shivam Dube, Suryansh Shedge, Rinku Singh, Harsh Dubey, Varun Chakaravarthy, Prince Yadav, Yash Thakur, Ashok Sharma, Mayank Yadav and Prabhsimran Singh.
