ICC official says expanded Women’s T20 World Cup has delivered high standards
ICC women’s cricket manager Snehal Pradhan says the expanded Women’s T20 World Cup has produced an impressive standard of cricket. She pointed to strong displays by emerging teams, competitive matches and large crowds at Lord’s.

LONDON: The International Cricket Council’s manager of women’s cricket, Snehal Pradhan, has praised the standard of play at the Women’s T20 World Cup, saying the expanded tournament has shown strong competitiveness across the field.
Speaking to AFP, Pradhan said the cricket on display had been impressive despite earlier concerns about whether the women’s game had enough depth for a World Cup enlarged from 10 teams to 12. England and Australia have reached Sunday’s final at Lord’s, but she said the event had also been shaped by the contribution of emerging sides.
Scotland was highlighted among those teams after beating Ireland by 40 runs, while also pushing several established opponents and coming close to defeating Sri Lanka. Ireland, meanwhile, ended a 12-year wait for a first World Cup victory by defeating the West Indies, the champions in 2016.
Pradhan told AFP the standard throughout the tournament had stood out.
