Swat boat tragedy death toll rises to six as search continues
The death toll in the Swat boat capsize has risen to six, with one 17-year-old girl still missing in Lake Saifullah. Rescue teams remain engaged in a round-the-clock search in Kalam’s Matiltan Valley.

SWAT: The death toll from the boat capsize in Lake Saifullah in Kalam’s Matiltan Valley has climbed to six, while rescue teams are continuing efforts to find a 17-year-old girl who remains missing.
Shafiqa Gul, spokesperson for Rescue 1122 Malakand Division, said emergency control rooms dispatched rescue personnel and ambulances to the site as soon as reports were received that a boat had overturned in the lake. She said recovery operations led to the retrieval of six bodies from the alpine lake, and the deceased were taken to Kalam Hospital.
Four ambulances later transported the bodies from Kalam Hospital to the victims’ ancestral towns in Punjab. Rescue teams equipped for deep-water operations are still deployed at Lake Saifullah and are using specialised equipment and other available resources to search for the missing teenager.
District officials said the operation is being monitored continuously, with rescue personnel working around the clock at the site on the second day of the incident.
