Three tourists die, seven injured as boat capsizes at Saifullah Lake in Kalam
Three tourists died and seven others were injured after a boat capsized at Saifullah Lake in Kalam, Rescue 1122 said. In Shangla, a woman died after being swept away by flash floodwater while crossing a stream with her daughter.

SWAT: Three tourists died and seven others were injured after a boat overturned at Saifullah Lake in Kalam area of Upper Swat, according to Rescue 1122.
Rescue officials said the control room received information about the incident and launched an emergency response immediately. Rescue teams and ambulances were sent to the site, where initial reports suggested that several people were missing after the accident.
As the rescue operation continued, officials confirmed that three people had died while seven sustained injuries. Preliminary information indicated that the tourists on board were from Punjab. Rescue 1122 personnel reached the remote location, administered first aid to the injured and shifted them, along with the bodies of the deceased, to Kalam Hospital in ambulances for treatment and legal formalities.
Woman swept away in Shangla flash flood
In a separate incident in Shangla district, a woman died after she was swept away by flash floodwater while accompanying her daughter to a seminary in Puran tehsil.
The incident took place in the Gumiar Machkandi Khor area when the woman tried to cross a rain-fed stream with her daughter. A sudden surge in water swept both of them away. Residents began rescue efforts and managed to save the girl, while the woman was carried away by the current.
Rescue 1122 teams, along with the tehsil administration and local volunteers, later reached the area and began a search operation. The girl was recovered with injuries, given first aid and shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment. After several hours of searching, rescuers recovered the woman’s body from the floodwaters and handed it over to her family after completion of legal formalities.
